Crime and safety was at the top of the list, with almost 70 percent of Illinois policy staff across the state ranking this issue as a priority. This focus on public safety comes as the state struggles with a higher crime rate than the national average, leaving policy staff urgently discussing ways to make their communities safer. Infrastructure and the economy were also top of mind for policymakers in the state.
