And while the housing market has shown signs of cooling this year – with median home prices expected to decline – the long-term outlook remains concerning for policy staff, especially for leaders in California and Florida – states that continue to anticipate continued price increases. With the growing worry regarding affordability for communities coast-to-coast, we spoke with policymakers to better understand their perspectives on the issue. Policy staff, regardless of party affiliation and region, agree their constituents should be able to live in the communities they work in.
