From June to December 2022, we interviewed over 200 policymakers in Minnesota to identify their top policy priorities. Addressing crime is at the top of the list, with 45 percent of policymakers identifying public safety as a top concern in the state. Strengthening K-12 Education and addressing challenges with teacher shortages and funding are other top issues for policy leaders on both sides of the aisle. Other top of mind policy challenges include public health, taxation, and the environment.
